Assignment #40

Heal Yourself

When i'm feeling especially sad or lonely, the following usually helps:

1. I first try to keep myself busy with some of the following:
A. Sewing or embroidering
B. Baking
C. Playing guitar. For the best results, i'll play a sad song and sing as loud as possible
D. Reading
2. The activities in step 1 are best accompanied by a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
3. I'll call an old friend and catch up. Hearing about their life reminds me that there are other things existing besides my temporary sadness. It's also nice to hear a friendly voice.
4. I'll make something nice for a friend. Making other people happy tends to make me happy.
5. A good dose of Mariah Carey never hurts. Especially if there's dancing involved.
6. I'll think about exciting things that are going to happen or that have happened. Because, if those are going to happen or have already happened, then it's totally possible that other exciting things could be happening right now.
7. It's also important to try to pinpoint what's making me feel this way. Usually, everything that's making me sad is being made up in my head.
8. I'll take a walk, long or short. But it's important that i stay warm.

In the end, i usually end up remembering that life's so rad.
